The Concept

Growing up, Dan and his family would host lavish, black-tie dinner parties at the family lodge. They wanted to invoke this same Gatsby-era elegance with their celebration at the lakefront property Dan’s family owned for generations. The groom grew up attending White Bear Yacht Club where the famous F. Scott Fitzgerald hung out and his legacy was something to which the couple wanted to portray. Men dressed in tuxedos and top hats, women in gowns, set the stage for the grand party they envisioned.

Our Vision

From start to finish, an old-world feel was infused throughout the event. The stationery suite was created using letterpress on deckle-edged handmade paper with a special scripted font and a custom monogram wax seal. To showcase the grand property on which the event was held, two clearspan tents were installed to fit the unique shape of the garden. A large, center lounge area with couches, blankets and leather chairs was installed to provide that homey, lodge vibe. Even cowhide chairs were rented for the bride and groom. A large center, 4-sided bar separated the lounge and the dance floor and provided a central hub for the evening’s festivities. Spectacular floral arrangements in rust, mauve and copper tones were coordinated with flowers in the outer garden. Plumosa and lunaria added the Gatsby-era elegance to the chandeliers and centerpieces. Copper chargers and antique brass flatware added the cherry on top!

Dan broke out the top hat for their grand entrance and an 11-piece band entertained guests throughout dinner and dancing.

The entire event oozed elegant and old-world charm in a warm, inviting lodge tent, exactly the look the couple desired for their big day!
