Real Weddings // Jason + Rodney

In 1999, Jason and Rodney met when they rushed the same fraternity at the University of Minnesota. After an immediate connection, the two started dating and the rest is history. In 2003, Jason and Rodney had a civil union ceremony in Vermont.  Unfortunately, they weren’t able to celebrate with all of their friends and family due to the distance from home. Fast forward 10 years and it’s fortuitous that their 10-year anniversary falls just days after gay marriage was legalized in the state of Minnesota.  What better way for Jason and Rodney to celebrate their 10-year anniversary than to legalize their long time union in their home state of Minnesota with a celebration with their closest friends and family at the Guthrie?

That’s where our wedding team came in. Our team of wedding planners incorporated the couple’s theme of “I do take 2”, a perfect play off the couple’s unique story and the Guthrie Theatre venue, and branded all of the paper elements with this overarching theme.  With a stunning ceremony on the Endless Bridge followed by passed champagne, passed hors d’oeuvres and food stations, delectable desserts from our friends at Cocoa and Fig, and lively DJ sets throughout the night {including a tribute to Madonna in honor of her birthday} an amazing time was had by all!

{Jason and Rodney’s wedding can also be seen on the cover of this month’s wedding issue of Lavender Magazine!}
