turning concept into reality

The Concept

Sara and Hannah originally envisioned their Glass House wedding as a black-and-white monochromatic theme filled with greenery. Primarily because they didn’t have many thoughts on what their wedding should look like and they felt that greenery would more likely keep them on budget than a floral-laden wedding. A lone image of a citrus-colored, modern invitation stood out on their Pinterest board, and after much questioning and learning more about the vibrant couple, we proposed a citrus-inspired wedding, which better represented their vibrant, colorful personalities. Sara and Hannah were quick to jump on-board!

Our Vision

The Reality

Set in the unique Glass House venue, bold linens with a citrus-like pattern, and patterned runners lined The Glass House’s gorgeous wood tables. Color Blocking was used to bring an individual color to life on each table, where the candles, florals, and fruits all matched similar shades of pinks, oranges, and yellows. These same colors were used in the bold invitation suite and continued with the day-of paper and signage. Dehydrated orange slices with names served as the adorable place cards.

The couple took a unique approach to their ceremony, utilizing the Glass House’s architecture by getting married at the top of a set of steps leading to a glass garage door, opening the venue to its outdoor space. With no wedding party, it was just the two of them with their officiant. Both walked in with their parents on each arm; Sara approaching from inside the venue, and Hannah taking the traditional procession down the aisle.

Two boldly colored arch walls stood behind them, which were then repurposed for displaying their seating charts, and then as a backdrop for the head table. Additional white pillars displaying florals stood alongside the arches, which were also reused as a backdrop for the head table.

After the ceremony, guests were immediately led to cocktail hour where they were served spicy margaritas and butler-passed appetizers. The food was kept relaxed with two food stations – one serving pasta, and the other tacos. Later in the evening, a station by the bar served bundtinis accompanied by a signature late-night sip of espresso martinis, the couple’s dessert and late-night cocktail of choice. Good music was a must for both Sara and Hannah, and a large crowd stayed late to dance the night away.

Everyone could see that this fun, spunky, dazzling day was a true reflection of Sara and Hannah.
